East Stoke

Is a rural parish in a beautiful part of Dorset, straddling the wide flat valley of the River Frome, bisected by the main Weymouth-London railway and consisting of the settlements of East Stoke, Stokeford, Rushton, Highwood, Hethfelton, Binnegar, West Holme, Holmebridge and Woolbridge. 

The village has a population of 477. The world famous Monkey World Ape Rescue  is near the northern edge of the Parish. The Freshwater Biological Association runs a research centre on the banks of the River Frome, from which the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust runs its research into atlantic salmon declines.
